Team Tennis
Rickmansworth LTC currently runs 23 teams which participate in local inter-club leagues.
Watford & District League Matches take place on weekday evenings starting at 6.30pm. Each team comprises of 6 players - 3 doubles pairs - and you play one set against each of the opposition pairs. Matches are local to the Watford area, and are usually finished by 9.30pm.
Herts League Matches take place at weekends. Start times vary, but usually start around 1pm. Home matches usually on a Sunday & away matches on a Saturday. Again, each team comprises 6 players - 3 doubles pairs - and each round is best of 3 sets but with a championship tie-break for the 3rd set. Matches are county-wide and can take all afternoon.
Herts Vets League Matches take place at weekends during the winter season. Start times vary, but are usually start around 1pm. Home matches are usually on a Sunday and Away matches could be Saturdays or Sundays. Each team comprises 4players - 2doubles pairs - and each round is best of 3 sets but with a championship tie-break for the 3rd set. Matches are county-wide and can take all afternoon.
All of these matches are competitive but friendly, and match teas are provided after the match has finished.
We always ensure that no Home fixtures are played on Wednesday evenings, and wherever possible we avoid Home fixtures on Saturday afternoons so that Social Tennis is unaffected.
Match Practice
Match Practice starts again this year w/c 7th April. This is an
excellent oppotunity to get some practice in before the season starts. It is also a good opportunity for team captains to meet new members
who wish to play team tennis.
Mens Practice is on Tuesdays from 6.30pm
Ladies Practice is on Thursdays from 6.30pm
