Juniors
The Junior Section is vital to the future of our club, and at Rickmansworth we encourage as many children as possible to play tennis and to maximise their potential and help them to become enthusiastic Club members.
The Junior membership is divided into two groups - based on age, not ability - and this is reflected in the membership fees (for more information please see the membership section).
Juniors have priority on ALL courts on Saturday mornings between 9am and midday, during which time Coaching sessions are held. These sessions cater for all ages and abilities and are run on a 'Pay & Play' basis. There are also after-school coaching sessions held during the week. Full details of these sessions can be found in the current coaching schedule.
Juniors have priority on courts 9 & 10 at all times, and these courts are marked out for Mini Tennis.
We hold regular 'Friday Junior Nights' between 6pm and 8pm throughout the year. The coaching staff are on hand to organise events and all Juniors are encouraged to play tennis and generally have an enjoyable evening. The bar is open and parents are encouraged to come along and support their children. Members are allowed to bring a Guest (for a small fee). A full list of dates will be available soon.
To help encourage Junior's development, we offer a special 'Playing Parent' membership category, allowing parents to come down and play tennis with their children.
Apart from the regular coaching sessions, Steve Skov and his team run tennis camps during school holidays. These could be half day, full day or even full week sessions. These camps include a variety of activities, including quizzes and table tennis should the weather force you indoors.
